With a hilly and mountainous landscape, an Atlantic coastline measuring just a mile and a half and a population roughly the same as Dover's, County Leitrim in north west Ireland couldn't be much more different from Dungeness or Kent if it tried - however, Ireland's most rural county does have similarities with Dungeness that manifests itself in the form of a type of vernacular 'make-do' spirit.
